SCIENCE BEHIND AQUEOSOME® TECHNOLOGY

Complexation of Active ingredients:

  • Formation of Trimolecular complex

  • Enhances solubility and bioavailability of Active Ingredients

Dosage Forms

  • Oral gel

  • Mouth wash

  • Vaginal gel

  • Vaginal wash

In vivo efficacy study in animal model for candidiasis

  • Animals: BALB/c mice immuno compromised and infected with C. albicans

  • Comparator: Clotrimazole (2% gel)

  • Dose: 500 mg gel/mice twice daily in oral regions

In vivo efficacy results showing reduction of oral candidiasis lesion, comparable to that of clotrimazole, in tongue of BALB/c mice upon oral gel treatment

Mechanism of action

  • Inhibits Candida sp. virulent enzymes: proteases and phospolipases

  • Inhibits Candida sp. constitutive enzymes: Aspartate semi-aldehyde dehydrogenase, lumazine synthase and  N-Myristoyil transferase

  • Inhibits germ tube formation
